MERRA Turns 30

Data availability at the DISC now extends for thirty years 1979 through 2008. This data is all online, and open to access. Production is presently in May 2009, and so should catch up to real time around the end of February. MERRA will continue into the future, as long as it is feasible to do so. At this point, we do not have a set production terminus.

Very interesting, do you have any new information about when 2009 will be released?

As of today, (Mar 2) MERRA production has passed Sept 2009. the rates are still hovering around 10 days per day of processing, so we should be into 2010 within 2 weeks. The review and release (if the data passes review) of 2009 will continue for the next two weeks. So, it will start becoming available in that time.
